Web Symposium shows corporations and agencies how to add to their traditional search engine marketing efforts to maximize their online marketing exposure within the different advertising channels

Alongside Google, the purpose of this symposium was to educate local businesses and agencies on the importance of an engaging web presence and the tools needed to drive people to their website and increase their conversion rates.

Google reported on media consumption today stating that, based on 46 hours per week, shows that consumers spend 74% of their time consuming either online or television media. However, recent reports show that US advertisers are still only spending about 7% of their marketing budget for online media.

Priorities, however, are shifting. The largest increase in advertising spending for 2006-2007 was in online media at 19%. Advertisers are becoming aware of the important role that online marketing plays in maximizing their reach to their consumer. All forms of online marketing from search engine optimization to contextual targeting to social media play a vital role in consumer conversion.
